Fitness Foundation Overview
Fitness Foundation (Legacy)
Fitness Foundation allows a member to log into COS to track their diet, workouts, and progress towards their fitness goals. The club can create meal plans and workout routines to share with the member. Also, they can record injuries via an industry standard PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) Survey.
This product is a legacy product that is no longer actively supported. In general, clubs do not utilize this feature and will not have members accessing COS or sending workouts and meals plans to members.
What Are Workout/Nutrition Templates?
In a nutshell, workout and nutrition templates are massive time-savers for trainers! If you're looking for a way to streamline your workflow, to free up more time for following through with your clients and on providing the best training possible, templates will help you to do that! They will take time to set up, but it will be time well-spent.
It would be great if you could establish a template for everybody who walks into your club with a goal of losing X pounds in 8 weeks, or to "get shredded fast" -- you've heard it all from your clients! Templates allow you to create the plan once and copy it to your new clients. Ready to put this into practice? Follow this step-by-step guide.
How Do I Create Workout/Nutrition Templates?
Creating workout and nutrition templates in Club OS is a great way to save time. Read more about what they are and why to use them here. Here is how to get this done:
-
Contact our support team to create "X" number of templates for you.
- Find the template name using the Find a Person.
- Change the First/Last Name of the template under Profile Pictures > Account Settings to match the name of your workout/nutrition plan/whatever you're making a template of. For example, if you have a plan called 8 Week Beach Body, name your member "8WeekBeachBody", or something similar. Don't forget to Save!
-
Select ‘Fitness’ from the sidebar menu, then select Workouts:
- Click the Create New Workout button to begin adding the workouts associated with your plan:
Once you're satisfied with the workouts you have added, select ‘Fitness’ and then select Nutrition:
- Click the ‘Add Food to Pantry’ button to add the foods permissible for the plan you established on step 6 of this guide:
8. Once you've added the foods to the pantry, you're ready to copy your new template to your clients. This will save you an immense amount of time! First, select the ‘Account Settings’ widget, featuring the gear icon, located in the black banner across the top of the page.
9. Select ‘Copy Data’ from the Account Settings tabs.
10. Select ‘Workouts’ and ‘Nutrition’ by checking the small white box by each option, then select ‘Copy Data’.
Once a template is established as outlined above, you may search for the template (step 4), then follow steps 9-11 for any future clients. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our support team.
What is the Benefit of Using the Food Journal?
The Food Journal component of Club OS provides clients with immediate feedback on their daily consumption in terms of caloric and macronutrient breakdown, with percentages of consumption in each respective category being represented immediately upon adding an item to the Food Journal.
Additionally, the Food Journal provides clients with an easy means of saving meals via the Save Meal button for ease of use. Food Journal entries may be added in one of several ways: searching through the library of over 81,000 food items; pulling from the client’s Pantry; or by using previously saved Meals, making the food journal incredibly robust.
New foods may also be added (including their caloric and macronutrient details) directly from the Food Journal by clicking Add Item, then clicking Add a New Food.
The Food Journal is an integral component of Fitness Foundation, allowing both the client and trainer to see immediate value and feedback.
What is the Purpose of My Food?
While foods added by a trainer or client appear in the globally-available list of foods, the foods displayed under My Food are those that have been specifically added by the client or the trainer. Foods that are added without a reliable data source (e.g., a nutrition label), will only be available to the client for which the food was added. Additionally, foods listed under My Food will not be copied when performing a Nutrition copy.
What Are Meals, and How Are They Used?
Simply put, meals are groupings of food items that are eaten together. Meals will be copied when performing a Nutrition copy. Meals may also be used to quickly add several food items to the Food Journal.
What Are Recipes, and How Are They Used?
Recipes are essentially meals with directions. Recipes will be copied when performing a Nutrition copy, but cannot be used to enter data into the Food Journal.
